How can i
stay in amniotic fluid
and wait on tables
to get paid at the end of 2 weeks?

how can i
stay all cosy, cuddled up and warm;
fed through an umbilical cord
working 8 hours on my feet?

see, i've got one foot in and one foot out
of my mummy
one day i wouldn't mind braving the world but right now
i'd rather stay tucked up in her tummy!

how can i
learn to carry drinks on a tray
to business people on their lunch break
without having learnt how to walk?

how can i
make light-hearted banter
with customers and co-workers
without having learnt how to talk?

see, i've got one foot in and one foot out
of my mummy
one day i wouldn't mind braving the world but right now
i'd rather stay tucked up in her tummy!

and for making me feel paralysed i kinda hate her
but really i'm just sad cus i miss her
not ready to grow up now, i'll do it later
so in the mean time i'll just have to get used to
being a foetus waiter!
